From this day on
A review of a year like no other could only start with a day like no other.  "Most Americans" memories of 2001 begin not in January, but in September, when before our disbelieving eyes, pillars of dirty smoke rose over lower Manhattan, and we sat transfixed by the impossible images on our televisions.  In the days that followed, a new commonality would define the nation.  But in the rubble of Sept. 11 lay a shattered piece of the American psyche: our shared sense of what was certain in our lives, of what was thinkable - and unthinkable.

 

American Flight 77, a Boeing 757 exploded into the Pentagons West side, perhaps instead of the White House.

 

 

The Twin Towers at the Base of the Manhattan Island with the Statue of Liberty as their Sentry and the Pentagon, a great Fort on the Potomac, are the sanctuaries of money and power that the enemy may imagine is what defines us..........But, How wrong they are!!
This was the bloodiest day on American soil since our Civil War.  On a normal day we value heroism because it is uncommon.  On 9/11 we valued heroism because it was everywhere.

 

TERRORIST CAN STRIKE AT THE HEART OF OUR NATION, BUT THEY CANNOT TOUCH THE FOUNDATION OF AMERICA.

THE AMERICAN FABRIC

Over the period since that terrible tragedy on September 11th there are countless stories of bravery and heroism.  When one world ended at 8:45 on Tuesday morning another was born, one we always trust as Americans.  One in which normal people must piece together to regain our precious freedom from those who took it away.   As typical Americans a show of generosity has swept the country and a burst of patriotism unseen since the days of Pearl Harbor.  Men and women have lined up at blood banks in such numbers that many have been turned away.  Flags have been unfurled from front porches, mounted on cars and pinned on hats and lapels.  What's needed is a Pearl Harbor sort of fury -- a ruthless indignation that doesn't leak away in a week . . or a month or until the job is done and our freedom restored.

 

 

FREEDOM IS NOT FREE What's needed is unified unconditional support and a show of Patriotism for our Nation at War on Terrorism.
